What can you do as a Patient?
As a patient you can upload your DICOM scan files from home (from a CD, USB, or folder), track when a radiologist has reviewed them, and read or download your report as a PDF — all without visiting a clinic. Payment is made upfront per upload via Razorpay (card, UPI, net banking).
- View all your studies and their current status
- Upload DICOM files from a folder or CD
- Choose Standard (24-hour) or Priority (2-hour) reporting at upload time
- Read your finalized radiology report in-browser or print to PDF
- Request a callback from the hospital support team
Step 1 — Your Studies Dashboard
After logging in you land on the Studies page — your personal list of all medical scans. Each row is one study (one scan session). Here's what each column means:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Patient | Your name and Patient ID as read from the DICOM files |
| Study Date | The date the scan was originally performed |
| Modality | Type of scan: CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound, etc. |
| Description | Study description from the scanner (e.g. "Chest CT with contrast") |
| Status | Where the study is in the workflow (see below) |
| Upload Date | When you uploaded it to Ruby Hall |
Status badges explained
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Processing | Files are being saved and indexed | Wait a minute and refresh the page |
| Ready | Upload complete — awaiting radiologist review | Nothing — the hospital team has been notified |
| Reported | Report is finalised and ready to read | Click the row to open and read your report |
Priority badge: If you paid for priority reporting, a Priority chip appears with a countdown timer (e.g. "1h 42m left").
Step 2 — Uploading Your Scans
If you have scan files from another hospital (on a CD, USB drive, or already copied to a folder on your computer), you can upload them directly from the browser. No special software is needed.
How to upload
- Click Upload in the navigation bar at the top.
- Click Select Folder to choose the folder containing your DICOM files — or drag and drop the entire folder onto the drop zone.
- Click Upload Files → read and accept the consent terms.
- Choose your report type: Standard (₹2,500 · 24-hour) or Priority (₹4,000 · 2-hour).
- Complete payment via the Razorpay checkout (card, UPI, net banking).
If you have a refund credit balance from a previous failed upload, it is applied automatically — no payment popup will appear. - Files upload automatically after payment. A progress bar tracks the upload.
- On success you are redirected to your dashboard where the study appears with the priority/TAT badge.
If payment is cancelled, your files remain selected on the page — simply click Upload Files again to retry.
Supported file formats
- DICOM files (
.dcm) — any modality (CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound, PET, etc.) - Files without an extension that are valid DICOM are also accepted
Duplicate detection
If you try to upload a study that already exists in the system (same Study Instance UID), a warning modal appears. You can choose to skip or replace the existing study.
Step 3 — Report Type & Pricing
You choose the report type at upload time — not afterwards. Payment is required before files are stored.
| Type | Turnaround | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 24 hours | ₹2,500 |
| ⚡ Priority | 2 hours | ₹4,000 |
Payment is processed securely via Razorpay — accepts cards, UPI, net banking, and wallets. You receive a payment confirmation from Razorpay after success.
Data retention: Your uploaded study and report are stored for 1 week (7 days) from the date of upload. Please download your report before this period expires.
Step 4 — Viewing Your Report
When your doctor finalises a report, the study row on your dashboard shows a Reported badge. Here's how to read it:
- Click the study row to open the Study Detail page.
- Look for the green "✓ Report available" banner near the top.
- Click "📄 View Report" to open the formatted report in a new tab.
- The report shows: patient details, study information, clinical history, technique, findings, impression, and recommendation — exactly as written by the radiologist.
Saving the report as PDF
- With the report open, press Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac).
- Change the Destination to Save as PDF and click Save.
Step 5 — Settings
Click Settings in the navigation bar to manage your account:
Account tab
- Change name / phone — update your display name or contact number.
- Change password — enter your current password, then a new one.
Refund Credit Balance
If a previous upload failed after payment was captured, the amount is automatically refunded to your Refund Credit Balance (visible in Settings). This credit is applied automatically on your next upload — no Razorpay checkout will appear until the credit is used up.
Step 6 — Getting Help & Support
- Click the chat bubble icon (bottom-right corner) → Support.
- Fill in your name, phone number, issue description, and preferred callback time.
- Click Submit. The hospital team will call you back.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my report? The study shows "Ready" but not "Reported".
"Ready" means your files were uploaded successfully and the radiologist has been notified. Standard turnaround is 24 hours. If it's been longer, use the Support page to request an update.
My upload failed after payment. What happens to my money?
If the upload fails after payment is captured, the amount is automatically credited to your Refund Credit Balance. It is applied on your next upload automatically. If you do not plan to upload again, contact support for a direct refund.
I uploaded the wrong folder / wrong study. Can I delete it?
You cannot delete studies directly as a patient. Please contact the hospital via the Support page — an admin can remove it and issue a refund if needed.
Can I change my email address?
Email addresses are used as login IDs and cannot be changed self-service. Contact the hospital admin to create a new account if needed.
I paid for priority but my report is late. What do I do?
Contact support immediately via the callback or chat option. An admin can issue a refund to your original payment method or to your refund credit balance.
